Recently, some retail businesses have decided to shut down their online stores due to COVID-19, or as Cardi B would say.. #Coronavirus! Victoria Secret, TJ Maxx, Marshalls and others have decided they would close their online stores in the light of putting their employees health first.

Of course, keeping online stores operating means employees would have to work in the warehouse to prepare orders. Fortunately, Victoria Secret plans on continuing pay to its associates who would be affected by this change.

The main focus for most retail businesses is keeping their employees employed and happy which is not a bad thing considering the hundreds of people out of a job right now. However, since retail businesses has no choice but to close, designers such as Brandon Maxwell has been keeping hopes high with his team.

Many retail business owners already see the economic hardships that are projected to come after this pandemic ends. Now, the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designer of America) are reaching out to Congress and the President seeking financial assistance in advance.

Tom Ford, president of CFDA explained "American fashion business has been hit hard and from every angle...the retail industry is the nation's largest private-sector employer, contributing $4 trillion to annual GDP and supporting one in four U.S jobs, 53 million working Americans".

See what resources the CFDA are providing to help retail businesses who are facing challenges.
