Today is the day that you focus on improving habits that have become a part of your daily life. For example, we all have the habit of eating when we are not hungry especially because we are home all day, every day right now. Instead of eating all of your quarantine snacks, try meditating for at least five minutes.
Here are other common habits that you can swap.
Old Habit: WAKING UP AND GRAB YOUR PHONE
Most of us do this to immediately see what we have missed while we were sleeping or to see if that person has emailed you back yet. That's the anxiety in us trying to make you feel as if you need to hurry and catch up with the world.
New Habit: Stretch and drink tea.
It's important to get your organs pumping first before you do anything else. Wake up those insides and be present. My favorite brand of tea is Yogi tea which has a collection of tea for stress, detox, sleep, etc.
Old Habit: SKIPPING BREAKFAST
You wake up too late or you're just not a "breakfast person". All of that is fine, however, you do not want to neglect your body because of what your mind is convincing you to do.
New Habit: Drink a healthy smoothie.
A fresh smoothie with your favorite fruits or vegetables is a suitable and quick meal to gain some energy for the day.
Old Habit: BINGE WATCHING NETFLIX ALL DAY
It gives you much pleasure and "it's nothing else to do anyways". Erase that out of your mind. Create a schedule for yourself and follow it every other day.
New Habit: Exercise for at least 45 minutes
Get that aerobics tape and go to work! There are many workout videos on YouTube especially for beginners. Take a quick jog around your neighborhood and get some fresh air. This is the perfect time to see what's going on outside of your house.
